LDAM Health and Wellness Activity

The London & District Academy of Medicine (LDAM) is pleased to announce the inaugural edition of our monthly social event series, designed to promote health and wellness through physical activity.

Our first event, “Walk with a Doc,” will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 9:00 AM starting at the LDAM office (122-747 Hyde Park Road). Together, we’ll enjoy a guided walk through the beautiful Sifton Bog.

This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with colleagues, promote healthy living, and enjoy time outdoors. Participants are welcome to bring along a partner, friend, or family member.

The London & District Academy of Medicine invites all Physicians, Resident doctors and Medical Students to a cozy, hands-on night of seasonal flavors, wood-fired pizza, and local drinks at the Growing Chefs! HQ.- all in support of Growing Chefs! Ontario, a local charity transforming food education for children and youth across our region.

We’re bringing back the pizza party — with a delicious new late-summer menu and all the charm of a private chef-led cooking class. This fun, interactive evening includes hands-on salad and pizza prep, followed by a sit-down shared meal you helped create!

Menu: We will be preparing most of the dishes below ourselves with direction from the chefs.  There may be some seasonal variations resulting in a slightly different menu. Some dietary restrictions can be accommodated if given enough notice.

Participants will make the salad and pizzas; desserts will be made in advance by our Chef team for this class due to timing.

LDAM London Lightning event on Saturday April 22nd @ 7 PM

This is a chance to meet with family and friends and watch the most successful team in the history of the National Basketball League of Canada!  Event registration is open to all LDAM members, residents, medical students, and family members. On Friday, May 27, 2022, London physicians gathered at Riverbend Golf and Country Club for a Scotch and Wine Tasting event.

Under the guidance of sommelier Jessica DiFruscia, those in attendance sampled a variety of scotches and wines and learned about food pairings to enhance the experience. This was followed by a wonderful meal catered by Riverbend Golf and Country Club.

The evening also included a presentation from Mr. Sudhir Bhalla of GN Financial Group entitled, “Enhancing Your Estate with Financial Solutions for Professionals and Business Owners”

All in all, it was a wonderful evening of professional fellowship and thought-provoking conversation.

On Thursday, November 18th, 2021 we held the 92nd Annual General Meeting. This engaging event saw our members able to meet in person! Thank you to all of our members and guests in attendance for joining us!

Our president, Dr. Sharadindu Rai hosted the event and the business portion covered timely and relevant topics including a wonderful virtual presentation from OMA’s Dr. Michael Kaufmann, the founder of the OMA Physician Health Program, along with special guests from MD Financial Management, Marc LePage who was able to attend in person, and Craig Maddock and Wesley Blight who provided an interesting virtual presentation covering many aspects of corporate finances and asset management for our members.

Special thanks to Sunningdale Golf and Country Club for the excellent service for both the event and preparations as well as for a delicious dinner.

LDAM Member Art Class - For the Love of Art

On Thursday, August 19th, 2021, members of the London and District Academy of Medicine attended an Academy sponsored art class at “For the Love of Art” art Studio. Much fun was had by all and the doctors proved that they possess more than just medical talents as they produced beautiful pieces of art that will undoubtedly look great on their walls at home.

Thanks goes out to Dr. Andrea Mok for organizing this event!

On April 29, 2021, our members joined Executive Chef Chandini Antia from Spice Symphony for an online, guided, cooking class!  This event was FREE for members of the London and District Academy of Medicine! 

Chef Chandini guided us through the preparation of three absolutely delectable Indian dishes:

1.    Malai tikka paneer, tofu, or chicken.

2.    Karhai paneer, tofu, or chicken.

3.    Baked fish, paneer, or tofu.

Great fun was had by all! The Food was great too!
